Tucked away in a hidden alley, our mural is about discovery, and the thrill that comes with finding a monstrous colorful squirrel in an unexpected place.
Tigers are revered as guardians and divine spirits and symbolize courage and power in Korean folklore and myth.
Lucas is meant to send uplifting messages to anyone passing by; the pink electricity symbolizes this energy and positivity. Anyone can pose in the black cutout, take a photo and see themselves getting energy from the mural. The wall also has a heart symbolizing happiness.
Portal Maker creates new land masses, suggesting an abundance in life and our capacity to return to the ecosystem that allows for human life to exist.
This mural is inspired by the manipulation of fabric and how the patterns on the surface become warped with the physicality of its wrinkles.

The woman on the mural represents Mother Nature, she has
huge wings behind her back made out of plants, and she talks to the birds sitting on her hands. She is surrounded by golden sunlight and it looks like she is almost glowing.

This mural features the poetry of John Frederic Herbin: “The tide flows out as the day expands.” Herbin was a prominent businessman, poet, and mayor of Wolfville. A fifth-generation Wolfville business, Herbin Jewelers houses this tribute to Wolfville’s natural world and its history. The mural also depicts chimney swifts, a local endangered bird species.
Canadian artist Alex Colville called Wolfville home from 1972 to 2013. Supported by funding from the Town Council, the Art in Public Spaces Committee wanted to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of his death and his connection to the town. The installation features nine reproductions of Colville’s paintings, a photograph of the artist and interpretive panels.
