In the hopes of bringing the character and personality of Toronto side streets to the busy main streets, this design was born. The intention is to juxtapose the city’s modern buildings, condo developments etc. with these timeless and unique historical homes, adding a little more charm to the urban sprawl. Inspired by four real houses in Toronto, one from Cabbagetown, Parkdale, Chinatown and Corktown, this mural was part of the 2019 Outside The Box program with Street Art Toronto.

“Interoh” means “entering into” or “gateway” and “Gale” defines “a very strong wind”. The ‘INTEROH GALE’ mural illustrates a gateway to a sustainable future by using renewable resources, such as wind.
The mural artwork’s theme addresses the idea of sustainability and the complicated relationship between the environment, nature, urban industry, and ever-expanding city infrastructure. The mural specifically addresses the need to preserve green spaces and develop systems and policies that will keep our city and communities sustainable as the City of Toronto continues to grow and develop at a rapid rate.
This mural is a reflection of community, nature and artistic expression. Adding to place-making features of the area as the entrance way to the OCADU Creative Campus, the artist ‘Birdo’ infuses his cubist design by uniquely interpreting Village By the Grange values with this colorful display above the Rosalie Pillion.

From 1 specific vantage point, this box turns into an optical illusion. Once a solid grey, 4-sided structure, it now looks like an open frame revealing the trees that used to be hidden behind. Framing a section of nature in this way, brings a heightened sense of awareness and appreciation for the natural landscape around us. Additionally, as the seasons and climate changes, summer can still be enjoyed—and nature preserved—inside this box at Eglinton Flats.
To see the illusion, stand on the red arrow (the vantage point) by the crosswalk. Aim your camera at the box and move it up and down until the edges of the actual sidewalk lines up with the edges of the painted sidewalk on the box. Voila!

Gradation was the winning design for the “Create Your Path” mural competition hosted by the City of Toronto’s Street ART (StART) program in 2017. The 12,000 sq’ artwork is located on the West Toronto Railpath across from the Bloor Station of GO + UP transit.

This mural recognizes the original mural that existed on this wall for several years prior that featured a simple beach vista with a palm tree.
LANEWAY LIGHT UP – 38 artists – 40 murals – 1 lane-way – 1 weekend! Port Union and the Rouge River share a history that spans thousands of years. The Port Union-Rouge Park mural, designed and led by experience mural artist Allan Bender of Blinc Studios, beautifully depicts parts of this story.
This mural was painted in 2016 by B.C. Johnson, with support from StreetARToronto’s Support Program. Johnson covered all four walls of the building (nearly 1000 square feet) with a freehand landscape design featuring Canadian flora and fauna. Upon completion of the mural, Johnson was hired by local businesses to paint numerous walls in the same plaza.
