Under the Crofton Sea

MR Circle: Kris Friesen Completed: July 2020

This whimsical little ocean themed painting for the Osborne Bay Pub was the first mural in Crofton, BC. The mural is composed of a wave washing over an underwater ocean scene where a giant Pacific octopus is playing a red piano, as musical notes curve out of piano into the sky. As a Vancouver Island mural artist I made sure to capture all things Crofton in the mural, like the Vesuvius ferry arriving from Saltspring Island and the loaded wood chip barges towed in to the Crofton mill.
This mural is 13 feet wide by 5 feet high and was painted in acrylic on aluminum composite panels.

Time-lapse painting of the first mural in Crofton, BC.
