The Greenwood Village mural Bricks and Wagons – A Greenwood Allegory was conceived by lead artist Jim Bravo, who wanted to look back to an age “when children could play in the street”. The mural was created by Bravo, Anthony Delacruz and Em Ciobanica, with help from Mural Routes Leadership Training in Mural Making graduates and others.
Business owners, led by wall owner Lefteris Karagianis, and residents wanted to kickstart a positive change in the area with a public art project. They were concerned about loitering and minor tagging, and hoped that the project would bring out the artistic potential of the community.
Bricks and Wagons is located at 1289 Gerrard St. East, on the intersection of Greenwood Ave., Toronto.
