L’Étoffe des Pionnières, it celebrates the historical journey and exceptional legacy of the Filles du Roy (the King’s Wards) as part of the 350th anniversary celebration of their arrival to New France (1663-2013), organized by Maison Saint-Gabriel.
The mural depicts the arrival of the initial 36 Filles du Roy – their names appear on the sixth gown – to a settlement in New France and its subsequent growth, particularly in Ville-Marie (present-day Montreal). The mural evokes a narration in eight scenes woven into the fabric of the first eight Filles du Roy’s gowns.

A depiction of several sailing vessels on Lake Erie during one of the largest naval battles of the War of 1812. The mural includes two oval style portraits of military commanders involved in the battle: Oliver Hazard Perry (American navy) and Robert Heriot Barclay (British navy).
Joint initiative between the City of St. Catharines, the West End Community Action Network and youth outreach group The Raft. Depicts activity that occurred over the course of the train station’s history: soldiers home from war, shipments of Niagara fruit crops, the arrival of circus elephants, and a visit from the Royal Family.
Two murals are painted on the front and back sides of the utility shed (One on each side). The murals depict park elements with figures animated in lively poses. A game of “I Spy” within one mural invites viewers to engage and have fun with the interactive artwork. This artwork was commissioned by the City of St. Catharines. Residents contributed to the creation of the mural as part of a Culture Days activity.

Created in 2003, the ‘South Dundas Churches’ mural depicts the churches of South Dundas throughout the times from 1789-2003 including churches that have been torn down, and newer churches created within the area.
Artist: John Ellenburger A major part of the South Dundas history is the importance of agriculture within the community. The mural ‘History of Agriculture’, created in 2003, depicts how agricultural practices have changed through the years from around 1784 to 1940.
Artist: David Bough The ‘McIntosh Apple’ mural pays tribute to John McIntosh and his discovery of the McIntosh Red Apple in the town of Dundela, ON in 1811. The McIntosh apple would go on to become commercially sold and a popular apple, even inspiring the name for Apple’s Mac computer.
