Smile Signal Box

MR Circle: Bareket Kezwer Completed: 2019

Located at the southwest corner of the College and Beverley intersection, this gorgeous signal box has been wrapped by a series of rainbow cascading squares, with black boxes splitting the design into thirds. On its front, left, and right sides, white text displays the word ‘smile’ in French, Greek, Italian, Korean, Swedish, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, and Hebrew. The artist’s signature geometric styling of the word ‘smile’ lays vertically on the back panel of the signal box.

Adapted from the streetART.to mural entry:

“Together, we can build inclusive, multilingual neighbourhoods that celebrate diversity. Smile at your neighbours, connect with strangers. Open your hearts and embrace your community. By helping other people find their light, we can all shine brighter together.”
