Baby Point Village
MR Circle: Completed: August 2022I use local elements from the area and general landscape in my design because my goal is to represent the charm of the Baby Point neighbourhood, and to compliment the community. I am also communicating to the diverse population of Toronto with my unique and identifiable imagery. It is through the influence of frescoes, folk art and fairy tales that I am inspired me to create an accessible artwork such as The Baby Point Mural.
The mystical and natural elements of the artwork pay tribute to the beauty of the local area’s homes, trails, parks, ponds, people and the sun and moon as a global connection between all forms of life. Each element’s unique and distinct personality is intertwined, reflecting the Baby Point community.
I am excited to be engaged in a project that contributes to Toronto’s accomplishment in animating our streetscape with artworks that reflect the character of our neighbourhoods. I am fostering learning opportunities for emerging artists through the project ‘Baby Point Gates’ Mural Project.
