Humanity B4 Borders

Completed: 2022

Mique Michelle completed “Humanity B4 Borders” for the 2022 Halifax Mural Festival. The mural features evergreen branches and cones to symbolize Halifax’s connection to Boston. To thank Boston for their aid following the 1917 explosion in the harbour, Halifax sends a Christmas tree every year. The mural also features a loon, strawberries, and the Mi’kmaw name for Halifax, Kjipuktuk.
