Dragon Mural

Completed: 2007

The dragon theme was chosen by the youth and inspired by the snakelike shape of the concrete barrier. The dragon appealed to the youth as being a mythical creature that is present in many different cultures. The mural incorporates imagination, colour and creativity in dramatically changing the appearance of this drab strip plaza. The mural served as a training ground for the youth to learn new skills in design, colour mixing, shading and texture. On-site, they learnt the practical applications of risk management and to deal with community interaction.

This mural was removed in 2022.
