Mural Routes is offering a special, one-time bus tour as part of Myseum Intersections, an annual festival of exhibits and events showcasing different perspectives of the city’s natural, cultural, and historical diversity.
Join Mural Routes and local experts for a tour of the historical roots of Scarborough and its lakefront, as seen through murals. Explore public art where you may not expect it, discover the historical and artistic stories behind each mural, and look towards Toronto’s future- all on this whirlwind tour.
What: A bus tour exploring the history of Scarborough through murals
When: Saturday, March 11, 1-4pm
Where: Meet at/return to Scarborough Arts, 1859 Kingston Rd, Scarborough

The tour will be led by Mural Routes Executive and Artistic Director, Karin Eaton and Jane Fairburn, author of Along the Shore: Rediscovering Toronto’s Waterfront Heritage.

Jane Fairburn is the author of Along the Shore: Rediscovering Toronto’s Waterfront Heritage. The book examines the history, landscape and people of the Toronto waterfront, from the Rouge River to Etobicoke Creek. Jane holds a B.A. in Political Science and was called to the Bar in 1990. She is currently working on her next book, Kanata: Stories of Integration and Collaboration in an Aboriginal World, which explores early relationships between aboriginal people and European settlers across Canada. http://janefairburn.com/
