In a While, Crocodile

Completed: 2018

Walking down Wellington Street rests a very chill crocodile, sitting on an inner tube in a blue pool, wearing sunglasses and holding a blue bottle. With clouds in the sky, Steven Twigg’s traditional style of background consists of vibrant blues, yellows, reds, and greens that begin behind the crocodile and can be seen to wrap around the Bell Box.

Artist’s Statement: I’m a glass-half-full kind of guy. Specifically, I enjoy my glasses half full of lemonade, on a pool floatie in the summer. I hope this artwork fills up your cup the same it does mine. Bonus: a resident from the neighborhood loved it so much that when they moved to another ‘hood, they reached out for my permission to get it tattooed as a reminder of passing it on daily walks with their pup.
