Réalisée sur les murs de l’édifice Le Chat des artistes, cette murale de Roadsworth vient marquer l’espace public et souligner de façon pérenne le dynamisme, la vitalité et la créativité du milieu tout en embellissant une artère importante du secteur. Inspirée du travail de l’artiste Ed Muybridge, l’œuvre transforme les surfaces plates de l’immeuble en terrain de jeu tridimensionnel pour une exploration du mouvement d’un chat. Le choix du matou est à la fois un clin d’œil à la dénomination des ateliers et une représentation symbolique de la vie quotidienne du quartier. La murale se prolonge d’ailleurs avec des éléments au sol et sur des murs du secteur afin de créer un parcours ludique où l’on peut suivre le chat se baladant dans le secteur.
L’artiste a été assisté de William Patrick tout au cours de la réalisation de la murale.

Produced on the walls of the Le Chat des Artistes building, this mural by Roadsworth designates a public space and highlights, in a perennial fashion, the dynamic, the vitality and the creativity of the milieu while embellishing an important artery of the area. Inspired by the work of artist Ed Muybridge, the mural transforms the flat surfaces of the building into a three-dimensional playground to allow an exploration of a cat’s movement. The choice of a cat is both a nod to the name of the building and a symbolic representation of daily life in the neighbourhood. The mural extends itself with elements on the ground and on area walls in order to create a playful route where one can follow the cat on its walk through the area.
The artist was assisted by William Patrick all along the production of the mural.
