The Kincardine, Ontario, Station Beach was a busy location with many lakeside industries in the turn of the century, including salt mining, lumber yards, great lake shipping and the CNR railway connections to southern towns and cities. This mural was composed by the use of two archival photos from the Archives in Bruce County Museum and local sources.
This is the same train shown in the Southampton mural, also included in my mural map collection.
It was painted during a winter visit to family in Pensacola and completed on site at the Kincardine Station Beach, mounted onto an existing sign installation near the actual yard.
Kincardine has made a beautiful park of the former industrial site and made gazebos in the style of 19th century train stations, with a well used board walk and historical graphics along the walkway.
