
Tara has worked in Toronto for the past decade as an artist, arts educator, and project manager of community mural projects and programs with Mural Routes, as an arts educator at VIBE Arts, and on many freelance projects and programs with organizations, schools and businesses.
Tara loves the challenge of facilitating the process of turning collective ideas and inspiration into action. Her practice as an arts educator explores accessible and playful art techniques like drawing, collage, DIY print and mixed media to facilitate collective storytelling and brainstorming.
Tara is a graduate of OCAD University's BFA in Drawing & Painting program in addition to York University's Community Arts Practice Certificate. She also completed Mural Routes' Leadership Training in Mural Making certificate. With the goal to focus her work on arts education, Tara is currently studying a Master's of Education in Curriculum & Pedagogy, with an emphasis on Arts in Education at University of Toronto's OISE.
Tara has had the opportunity to work with many organizations and institutions, including: The Aga Khan Museum, Cultural Hotspot, Entelechy Arts, Friends of the Pan Am Path, Lakeshore Arts, L Space Humber Galleries, Mural Routes, Nuit Blanche Toronto, OCAD U Student Gallery, The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), Scarborough Arts, Street Art Toronto, South Asian Women's Centre, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Toronto Community Housing, Toronto District School Board, Toronto Public Library, and VIBE Arts for Children and Youth.
